How Optima Living is
Prioritizing Senior Safety

As we age, maintaining safety becomes increasingly important. Clinical research shows that seniors face a higher risk of falls, medication mismanagement, and cognitive-related hazards. Senior safety is a dynamic and multi-faceted issue that requires both proactive and responsive measures. At Optima Living, we prioritize safety for our residents and empower seniors to thrive with independence and dignity.

Spring is in full swing!

While we’re thrilled to see the sun shining, we’re also excited about the new beginnings and possibilities that come with spring. We can’t wait to connect, thrive, and bloom this season.

Our residents recently enjoyed getting portraits with a twist! We had a fantastic time hosting caricaturist Laurel Hawkswell.

We spent a lovely afternoon working with our hands during pottery classes and horticulture therapy.

Last month we celebrated Ramadan with warmth and reflection. It was a meaningful time to
honour tradition and community together.
One of our new residents, Laurie, received a Comfort Bird made by the Men’s Shed of Strathcona County. This nonprofit organization, based out of Aster Gardens, provides a safe and friendly environment for men to connect, socialize, and work on projects together. A comfort bird is a small wooden carving, made as a token of affection and support for a loved one.
